Born to Fight,
Built to Win

Maria Sharapova was born on April 19, 1987, in Nyagan, Siberia, Russia. Her journey from a small industrial town to becoming one of the most recognized athletes in the world is a testament to extraordinary talent, unwavering determination, and the sacrifices of an entire family.

At just nine years old, she left Russia for the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida — without her mother, who could not obtain a US visa at the time. Her father worked tirelessly to fund her training, and Maria repaid every ounce of that sacrifice on the court.
